p-Hydroxyacetophenone, also known as 4-Hydroxyacetophenone, 4-Acetylphenol, p-Acetylphenol, 4-hydroxyphenyl methyl ketone (4-hydroxyphenyl methyl ketone), commonly known as piceol, is a white needle-like crystal at room temperature, flammable, easy to dissolve in hot water, methanol, ethanol, ether, acetone, benzene, difficult to dissolve in petroleum ether. It occurs naturally in THE STEMS AND LEAVES OF ASTERaceae Artemisia, and in the roots OF PLANTS such AS Artemisia japonica, Metaplexia JAPonica, PANax japonica and Saurophyllum JAPonica. This product is used in the manufacture of cholelithiasis and other organic synthesis of raw materials.
