I. The Core Mechanism of Whitening and Fading Spots
Arbutin improves skin color through the following pathways:
(1)Inhibiting tyrosinase activity: A key enzyme that directly interferes with melanin production, reducing excessive melanin synthesis.
(2)Block the oxidation reaction chain: Reduce oxidative stress caused by ultraviolet rays or free radicals and lower the activity of melanocytes.
(3)Mild melanin metabolism: Promote melanin metabolism in the epidermis and improve pigment deposition problems such as chloasma and acne marks. Studies have shown that its whitening effect and stability are superior to those of traditional β -arbutin, and it can take effect at low concentrations (such as 1%-2%) with lower irritation.
2.antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects
(1)Neutralizing free radicals: Arbutin can eliminate free radicals produced by sun exposure and pollution, slow down skin oxidative damage, and delay photoaging.
(2)Soothe sensitive redness: By reducing the release of inflammatory factors (such as IL-6, TNF-α), it alleviates skin inflammatory responses and is suitable for sensitive or acne-prone skin.
